Tic Tac Toe, Three in a Row: #tttc044

This board couldn’t be more timely as I am preparing cards for my May class which focuses on masculine cards!

For this card I drew inspiration from the left diagonal, middle row AND left column!  Which three in a row will you choose for your project?  Grab your creative cap, whatever supplies you have on hand and come play with me at TTTC!

Happy Thursday crafty friends!  It’s time for a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  This week’s board is by Jeanie Stark.

There is so much to inspire you on this board – I was able to pull in THREE 3 in-a-row designs this week.  Why not make this a super challenge for yourself this week and include more than one row in your creation?  See you over at www.tictactoechallenge.com

Tic Tac Toe, Three in a Row: #tttc042

Stampin Up Sweet Little Something baby card in coral by The Creative Compendium

I just love this cuddly bunny!  The three step stamp really creates a WOW photorealistic image.  And since I pre-ordered Stampin’ Up’s all new Stamparatus, getting all three layers to line up perfectly is a snap!  Find more information and other card ideas using this Sweet Little Something stamp set here.

For this card I drew inspiration from the left column down.  Which three in a row will you choose for your project?  Grab your creative cap, whatever supplies you have on hand and come play with me at TTTC!

Tic Tac Toe, Three in a Row: #tttc40

Christmas aside, what holiday do you make the most cards for?  I find myself busy with Mother’s Day cards and you can see that for this week’s challenge I’m already getting a head start.  I’m blessed to have a Mother, two Grandmothers and a Great Aunt all living to honor on this special day.  Since I sell many of my creations, Mother’s Day is brisk business for those wanting to buy more than a generic card for Mom.

For this card I used the baby wipe technique which I will be featuring in my next class (if you live in the Tucson AZ area).  I love how modern but yet feminine this card is!

For my inspiration I chose the left diagonal; twine, metallic and rhinestone.  Which three in a row will you choose for your project?  Grab your creative cap, whatever supplies you have on hand and come play with me at TTTC!

Best of Sale-A-Bration 2018

My Sale-A-Bration 2018 Best of picks

I have had several months to sample and play with most of the Sale-A-Bration free products.  As we head into the final two weeks to earn these items, I wanted to share my top picks and what I have created with them!

I am happy to share with you that the Celebrate You thinlits and the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions® Embossing Folder will  available for purchase in the upcoming 2018-2019 anual catalog.  Currently these two items are bundled with coordinating exclusive stamps sets as a level 2 Sale-A-Bration item. (free with $100 purchase).  Please note that the bundles will not carry over so if you are in love with the matching stamps – get the budle as a free gift!  Otherwise you can look forward to purchasing these products in June!

Sale-A-Bration Pick #1: Amazing You Bundle (free at $100)

Left card:  This card is so simple thanks to our new Brusho crystals and the Amazing You bundle.  My card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2 ” on watercolor paper.  The “amazing” is cut out with the thinlits while the flower and other text are stamped.  The beauty of Brusho is that each background will be a unique work of art!

Middle card:  This card was mostly made with the Hold on to Hope bundle from the 2018 Occasions catalog but can you see the ray peeking out behind the cross?  That stamp is from the Amazing You set.  Heat embossed in gold, this stamp looks like sunshine!

Right card:  This card is a new favorite of mine!  Card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Basic Black.  The bottom layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The wow factor on this card is the top layer of vellum.  Cut a piece of vellum to 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.  Stamp the flower with Stazon ink and let dry or heat set.  I used our new Stampin’ Blends in Calypso Coral to color in the flowers.  To keep the images from smudging, I attached the vellum layer ink side facing in.  This protects the image and gives a lovely soft focus look to the card.  Both sentiments are die cuts from the Celebrate You thinlits.

Sale-A-Bration Pick #2:  Springtime Foils Desinger Series Paper (free at $50)

Left card:  Let’s take another look at this card.  Besides the awesome stamps and dies from the Amazing You bundle, this card features another of my Sale-A-Bration obessions; the Springtime Foil DSP!  These ultra thick foil papers are YUMMY!  There are four different designs in copper, gold and silver foils.  This card features what I call the “copper bubble design”.  I love how the foil shows through the vellum!

Right card:  Again this card is made  with the Hold on to Hope bundle.  But how perfect is that floral background for an Easter card?  This pattern has both silver and gold foil accents that tie in beautifully with the gold foil cross.

Sale-A-Bration Pick #3:  3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon Pack         (free at $50)

Left card:  These shimmer ribbons are wonderful to work with and so easy to add to any project!  This card uses the Sweet Little Something photopolymer set from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  The Calypso Coral ribbon works great on this baby card or could easily be change to a Spring / Easter card by swapping out the sentiment.  Check out my previous post for more ideas and tips on using the Sweet Little Something set!  Also, even though it didn’t make my top 3 of Sale-A-Bration picks, the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions® Embossing Folder (available June 1st) was used to make my background.

Right card:  Birthday Wit has to be one of my favorite 2018 Occasions stamp sets!  These snicker worthy sentiments pair so well with bright and modern designs!  You can find more projects featuring this stamp set here.  For this card, I used the small Bermuday Bay ribbon to complement the card base as well as add more texture and shimmer.

Pals Blog Hop “Spring has Sprung”

Welcome to the Pals March 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Spring has Sprung”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with Spring or Spring-related projects. You may see floral, Easter or other general Spring-inspired designs. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Sweet Little Something

This bunny almost looks real enough to cuddle and squeeze!   Like the  top selling  Baby Bear, Sweet Little Something features a three step  stamp for a photo realistic image.

I chose the “Sweet little somebunny” sentiment to make this a baby card but the design could easily used as an Easter or  Spring card  with the other phrases included in the stamp set.

I like coming up with layouts that can be multi functional by simply swapping out a saying.  This card would also make a cute kids birthday card!

The ribbon and basket weave background  are from the 2018 Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Here is the same card, but with the thinner Bermuda Bay ribbon from the same Sale-A-Bration pack.

Besides the Sweet Little Something set, and Sale-A-Bration items, I used the butterfly from Hold onto Hope and the decorative die from Petals & More thinlits.  So Saffron was used as the card base, sentiment and the square Stitched Shape.

There is no matching die for this cutie, but the bunny is very easy to fussy cut as I did for these cards.

Below are the colors I used to stamp my bunny.  Soft Suede could be substituted for Tip Top Taupe.

This card with the cable knit embossed background really makes this a baby card.  It was my first attempt playing with this set where I used Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Tip Top Taupe.

I personally think that a broader range of color saturation (like the cards above) create a crisper image.  The colors in this first attempt blend together more and although still cute, the image is less clear.

I hand stamped this image while I stamped the first two with the Stamparatus.  What a difference!

Side note about the Stamparatus:  The further your image is from the hinges the better.  If you are super thrifty like me and use the bare minimum of materials, you may have to add a little extra umpf  to get good contact between stamp and paper closer to the hinged edges.

Tic Tac Toe, Three in a Row: #tttc038

I love when I can incorporate those crafting “leftovers” that you keep because you swear “I’ll use it for something!”  In the case of this card, I’m so glad I did save those bits and pieces.

The background was a piece of 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ watercolor paper I had been testing faux watercolor backgrounds on.  The polka dots in the challenge board brought me back to that scrap which, on it’s own I didn’t like.  However, stamping some random dots with the Playful Backgrounds set totally changed the scrap into an interesting focal piece!

I used a 3″ x 3″ piece of Old Olive cardstock as my bottom layer and stamped a sentiment from an old Paper Pumpkin kit also in Old Olive.  The sprig is a die from the Petals & More thinlits set.

For this card I drew inspiration from the left column down.  Which three in a row will you choose for your project?  Grab your creative cap, whatever supplies you have on hand and come play with me at TTTC!

This week’s featured designer is Claire Broadwater.  Our board has plenty of inspiration for Spring or Saint Patrick’s Day.  (or even something completely different – like my card)

We love seeing what you creat and I hope you will join us for another great week at www.tictactoechallenge.com
